Ever wanted an application that works in-synch with the music library on your mobile phone to recommend gigs based on your musical taste? How about one that sends you alerts when those artists are playing near you, events that can be shared with your friends via SMS, email or a posting straight to Facebook (I’m sure we’ve all had a falling out with friends for not telling them about upcoming events), one that uses GPS to tell you about the gigs that are happening in your area, or even one that uses that GPS to list music venues with their upcoming events?… Or better yet, how about an application that not only does all of this, but also allows you to buy tickets and gives you directions?… Well Nokia Beta Labs have gone and done just that with the aptly named GigFinder app!

Know exactly who it is you want to see?

• Use the search tab to find your favourite artist by What, Where and When search fields.

• Share the event by SMS, email, and on Facebook.

• See the venue location with Ovi Maps.

• Save the event to the My Gigs tab and calendar.

• Buy tickets from a choice of available vendors.

• Add artist to profile for smarter future recommendations.

• Buy artist’s music from the Nokia Music Store (Free to ‘Comes With Music’ subscribers).

Feeling a bit Random?

• Suggestions based on the content of your compatible Nokia phone’s music library, including similar artists.

• ‘Venues’ tab for music venues near you based on your phone’s geographical location.

• ‘Gigs Here’ tab for gigs near you based on your geographical location.

The Nokia GigFinder application can be downloaded here, please note that GigFinder will continue to be developed and enhanced based on your feedback. Please let us know of any improvements you would like to see to make it even easier to bring you closer to the music and artists you love.

Works with Nokia devices based on S60 5th Edition: Nokia N97, N97 mini, X6, 5800, 5530 & 5230.

The first release of Gig Finder includes information about gigs in: United States, Canada, United Kingdom (UK), and Ireland.
Location relevance (Gigs Here) is currently available for United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Ireland.

Information about live events in other countries is anticipated for future releases based on interest and availability.

Connectivity is from your default Internet access point.  If you are unable to connect, check your Internet access point and priorities.  (SETTINGS>CONNECTIVITY>DESTINATIONS>INTERNET).
