Review: Nokia BH-905 Bluetooth Headphones

With active noise cancellation

With active noise cancellation

Back in June this year Nokia launched these incredibly high quality headphones with myZone Ambient Noise Cancellation Technology from Wolfson Microelectronics. Designed with both music and the phone call in mind they deliver far beyond my expectations from previous experiences with wireless headphone technology.

Having reconfigured my household furniture over the weekend I was faced with the arduous task of returning my strewn items to their respective locations and capitalized on the opportunity to give these beauties a test run, something I would never have considered with a wired set of headphones as anything that hampers my progress when organizing is likely to feel my wrath.

After pairing them with my Nokia X-6 I make a selection on my music player with both a great high and low end to test the entire dynamic range and neatly stash the phone into my pocket, out of sight and out of mind.

Toggling the Active Noise Cancellation I shut the world out and through screeching falsettos and thumping bass lines that come through as clear as day and I hear sounds in the mix I haven’t heard before.

Highly engaged in the experience I begin to neglect my mission and concede to drumming on every surface I encounter and try to sing loud enough in a failed attempt to monitor my own vocal performance. Invariably singing out of key, I’m mortified to discover that without me noticing, my other half has managed to get in through the front door, come up the stairs and is standing behind me laughing!…

It would seem the joy of these headphones go beyond the user experience… very, very nice!

Here are some Tech Specs for those who actually understand them and a microsite for those of us who appreciate summaries and pretty pictures.
