Carnival Competition Time
Greetings!
It’s August Bank Holiday weekend, and for millions of partygoers across the nation, that can mean only one thing – Notting Hill Carnival. Twenty Miles of costumes, over 40 000 sound-systems and over a million people attending. The carnival officially kicked off yesterday afternoon, but today is kids day and tomorrow is the main parade.
To celebrate the carnival and the end of summer we’ve decided to give away 2 pairs of Nokia BH905 noise cancelling headphones with a little twitter comp. Simply tell us what your favourite thing about carnival is and tag is nokia and carnival – we’ll pick our two favourites on Monday evening and the winners will receive a pair each.
The contest kicks off at midday today and last entries will be accepted at 7pm Monday. So Good Luck! And to everyone that’s going- have a great time!

Yes, that’s right Madonna turns 52 today. Congratulations to her on still being as popular as ever. According to our download service she’s still the second most popular female solo recording artist, beaten only by pop sensation Lady Gaga who is a crazy 28 years her junior!
Worry not diehard fans, Madonna retains her Royal Crown in the offline world as she’s named the top selling recording artist in 2011’s Guinness World Records. Well done to the Material girl.

I’m sure you’re all aware that this weekend is Glastonbury, and for once the weather looks as if it’s going to be incredible. The country is divided into two camps, those who are going, and those who wish they were.
We at NokiaMusic are also divided into two camps. Gaz has gone and I’m here, manning the ship and wishing I was there too. Follow us on twitter @We_R_NokiaMusic regardless of location. Gaz is going to be giving away some Glasto treats at various locations within the festival grounds, and we’re going to be running a giveaway for our favourite I’dratherbeatglasto tweet too.
Gaz will be posting pics from within the festival site, and if you’re one of the lucky ones, you can use your powers of deduction to go and find him for some portable speaker giveaways. Think Where’s Wally? but with less stripes.

The premise is simple. Each day @LDN will tweet a picture and a clue at 1pm. For example: This legendary Oxford Street venue is neither 99 nor 101 (and an accompanying visual clue) would hopefully point you in the direction of Oxford Street’s famous 100 Club.
You’ll then hop on some transport and head to the location, where you’ll find our very own Gaz NokiaMusic loitering uncomfortably with the prize. (Gaz will be identifiable by his Nokia lanyard and will be sporting a pair of said headphones) if you’re the first person to approach him, he’ll give you your headphones (yay!) and snap a picture of you and your prize.
