Blogging from Nokia World 09 in Stuttgart today and after months of having to remain tight lipped I can finally express my joy at the unveiling of the Nokia X6.
Ultimately it’s the successor to the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music but with a 32Gb onboard memory, up to 35 hours of music playback, a 3.2″ touch screen, 5.0 Megapixel Camera and has direct access to the Ovi Store. With the ability to bring online social networks to your home screen, new feature “Lifecasting with Ovi” allows you to post status updates as well as your location directly to Facebook. Interestingly, as I understood it is that you’ll also be able to navigate to a fellow X6 device users location, which would be a rather useful function at a music festival… reception permitting!
Colours are available in combinations of a more sophisticated Blue & White or the rather more bold and brooding Black & Red but more importantly the device will be available in a “Comes With Music” edition and is supplied with a pair of WH-500 stereo headphones.
The question on my mind though is what do I have to do to get myself one of these if I’ve only just been given a new company phone? (Hint Hint!)
Here are the European specifications for all you technophiles.
See the official press release here for information on today’s other announcements.

Comes With Music
Yay!… Finally got my hands on a Nokia 5800 Comes With Music Edition this morning and it was well worth the wait.
On first impression the phone is sleek and sophisticated and is considerably narrower than current Smartphones, beautifully balancing technology and compact design. But ultimately aesthetics come down to individual preferences which is why I’m focusing this article on what matters most. Unlimited downloads from over 6 Million tracks on the Nokia Music Store for 12 months and at the end of the subscription you get to keep them too.
Though I can’t vouch for this whopping number of tracks (only because I don’t want to count them) what I can say is this, I certainly am having a tough time trying to find the balance between writing this and fighting the urge to rather just spend the rest of the day downloading all those wishlist albums which I’ve never had the spare cash to buy, never mind the Nokia Music Store Exclusives that are bringing me so much closer those ever elusive complete band discographies.
All in all I am the proverbial candy-store-kid, I highly recommend this phone if you luv yer tunes and if you are looking to get one of these I’ll give you this advice, make absolutely sure you get the “Comes With Music Edition” as it is also available without this incredible service and would be a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions to miss out on.

Music is many things to many people. That’s the mantra for this little blog, as it gathers the random thoughts, opinions and ideas of a handful of music enthusiasts toiling behind the scenes at Nokia Music. We don’t pretend to be experts (OK, that’s not strictly true), we’re just big fans of music, be it [...]
